Gay Pride Week
(June 3d - 8th, Gan Meir, Tel Aviv)
At the beginning of June, the city of Tel Aviv will launch its annual weekly gay - related activities. The Gay Pride Week will highlight the gay community's agenda. The pride week's top event, the Gay Pride Parade, will take place on June 8th. Like the previous years have shown, you're in for a real treat. A huge crowd of people wearing colorful attires and various forms of pride flags, will parade through the streets of the city in a rainbow of colors.
The annual slogan that was chosen for the Pride Week events is "The whole country [filled with] flags". The notion behind the words is the attempt to make the parade nation oriented, rather that local. The event will begin in Gan Meir, then march on via King George Street to the municipality building without any trucks. The trucks will join the march on Ibn Gabirol Street, all the way to Gordon beach, where every year a traditional mass party is held with many artists and musicians.
