Fairytales in the Sand – Sand Sculptures Exhibition
(July 1st - August 26th, 2013, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv)
This exhibition is built in Eretz Israel Museum's gardens by Dutch and Israeli sand sculpting artists. The displayed sculptures will be based on book characters, such as the Little Prince, Tarzan, Alice in Wonderland, as well as biblical figures, such as David and Goliath, Samson the hero, King Solomon. This year there will also be Super Hero Sculptures, such as Spiderman, Captain America, Ironman, the Hulk etc.

SummerDance 2013
(July-August-September, 2013, Suzanne Dellal, Tel Aviv)
The annual event of Israeli dance continues throughout August as well. It includes 79 performances with guests from Spain, Switzerland, England, Thailand and Czech. Different dance styles will be included, such as Neo-classic, Eastern, African, Indian, Flamenco, contemporary and many more. Tickets cost between 60 to 180 ILS per show.

The Art Of The Brick Exhibition
(June 27th - August 27th, 2013, Israel Trade Fairs & Convention Center, Tel-Aviv)
This unique lego exhibition by Nathan Sawaya continues throughout August as well. Even though lego is known as a toy children play with, Sawaya stated the exhibition can interest anyone, since the lego is used in artisitic ways to express complex, sophisticated concepts.

Anthrax Concert
(August 13th, 2013, Nokia Arena, Tel Aviv)
The American heavy metal band, which is considered one of the most successful bands in the thrash genre with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth, will perform in Israel for the first time. The band was formed in 1981 and released 10 studio albums since then. Tickets start at 220 ILS.

Animix 2013
(August 9th - August 13th, 2013, Tel Aviv Cinemateque and the Israeli Animation College)
The 13th annual international festival for animation, comics and caricature will take place this summer, during which there will be workshops and lectures open for the public. The lectures will be about three dimensional animation, classic animation, digital sculpting, painting and comics, visual effects and more.

My Name is Yehuda - Fringe Theater Show
(August 16th, 2013, Tel Aviv Museum)
Within the museum's series of fringe plays, this play is based on Yehuda Amichai's poetry. Amichai is one of the most important modern Israeli poets; he has won numerous awards, both Israeli and international. The play will introduce many of Amichai's themes, such as war and peace leading to a message of love and understanding.

Wanted Exhibition
(August 8th, 2013, Tel Aviv Museum of Art)
A selection from the Mugrabi collection, which focuses on the works of Andy Warhol, who's considered a significant artist in the contemporary art scene and a pop art pioneer. Amongst Warhol's works that will be displayed: the famous Coca-Cola bottle painting, celebrities portraits, such as Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Mao Zedong. Some of Worhol's later works will also be displayed, such as parts of his series "The Last Supper" and a self portrait.

Furthermore, the works of of the following artists will also be displayed in the exhibition: Tom Wesselmann, Adam McEwen and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

MC Pitbull Concert
(August 12th, 2013, Hall 1, Israel Trade Fairs & Convention Center, Tel Aviv)
The American rapper, producer and songwriter will perform in Israel this summer for the first time. He released his debut album "M.I.A.M.I." in 2004 and since then released six more studio albums. He is well known for his hits "I Know You Want Me", "Get It Started" and "Give Me Everything". He has worked with Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and more. Tickets start at 299 ILS.
